Why Regressions Are Different From Readings
Why Regressions Are Different From Readings
I am often approached by individuals who ask me for a “reading” on their past lives. I explain that I don’t do readings, nor do I think readings are the most accurate way of ascertaining who you were in a prior life. Readings are given by individuals, i.e. psychics, mediums, akashic readers, etc., who “tell” you who you were in a prior lifetime. You don’t do anything except be on the receiving end of the information they share with you. Now, I know of many talented and sincere “readers” out there and I am not negating the value of the work they do. I’ve gone to a few myself. However, I am a firm believer in what Edgar Cayce taught–that “all answers lie within.”
When you seek answers from someone who “spoon feeds” the information to you, you are taking the gamble that the information may or may not be accurate. They are filtering it through their own consciousness, so it’s like having a third party involved. I have many clients who come to me after having gone to a reader. They are convinced that they had a certain past life based on what someone else told them and once that gets anchored in their mind, it alters their ability to see and believe the past life information they receive in a regression. In most cases, they never see the past life that the reader told them about and then they are confused and in some cases, disappointed. The true healing comes when the actual past life is revealed from within their souls–not a past life that passes through someone else’s soul.
Past-life work is just that–it’s work. It’s work that YOU have to do in order for it to be a healing and transformative experience. If you request a regression, it is not necessary to tell me your life’s story. I don’t need to know anything and I don’t need your back story. As a matter of fact, the less I know, the better. Often because readers are given background information, they may consciously or subconsciously sandwich it into the reading. For you to have an honest experience, the information you receive should be spontaneous and fresh, without anything to influence it one way or the other.
This is why so many who experience a past-life regression tell me they had no idea that the lifetime they revisit in the session ever existed. They also say that the session gave them what I call the “ah ha” experience–answers to questions they’ve been asking for years. “Now it all makes sense” is a common response to a regression. The fact that I wasn’t the one to tell them anything, but instead it all came from within their own souls, gives the experience the credibility that makes it meaningful. Consider that when you are ready to get answers to your life’s unanswered questions. Past-life regression gets to the root cause of your issues, enabling you to revisit the originating experience and understand what needs to be done to resolve those issues once and for all.
