Soul Survivor: The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot

Soul Survivor: The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Bruce Leininger, who along with his wife Andrea, co-authored the aforementioned book. Bruce was the keynote speaker at this year’s Reincarnation Symposium, where I was also featured leading a Soul Writing session. I had read “Soul Survivor” when it first came out, and then recently reread it knowing I’d be meeting Bruce. It was every bit as provocative the second time around!

“Soul Survivor” is the story of Bruce’s young son, James, who remembered the life of a World War II pilot who was shot down and died during the war. James was only two when those memories started to surface in recurrent nightmares in which he would scream, “Plane on fire! Little man can’t get out!” He later recalled other events in his prior life as James Huston, who was killed in the battle for Iwo Jima.

Young James chose his parents in this life very wisely, because they did not dismiss his claims, but instead went on a herculean effort to uncover the truth about their young son’s “memories.” Bruce was skeptical at first, dismissing the idea that reincarnation was the answer, but over time, and painstakingly detailed research over many years, he came to accept that this truly was past-life recall.

The book is fascinating and I encourage you to read it. Children remembering past lives is a subject that has been heavily researched, but even so, when a case like this is unearthed, it puts everything in perspective. You may be able to dismiss one memory, but when they appear one after the other, it’s hard to say this isn’t anything other than true past-life recall.

Bruce was a wonderful guest, engaging, friendly, and adding a depth of understanding to the subject that was appreciated by all who were there. I learned a lot from him and am so proud to have had the opportunity to meet him.
