Parallel Lives and Walk-Ins
Parallel Lives and Walk-Ins
The topics of parallel lives and walk-ins are ones that I am conflicted about. On the one hand, my mantra of “never say never” applies to these concepts, but in my many years of doing past-life research and guiding hundreds of clients through regressions, the topic seldom, if ever, comes up. No one has ever said to me that they believe a part of them is living life in a parallel universe, and only one ever admitted to being a walk-in. As a matter of fact, when I decided to include a chapter on it in my upcoming book: Why Are There So Many Cleopatras, I could not find one book in my extensive reincarnation library that addressed either term, although I’ve been made aware that there are books dedicated to this topic.
PARALLEL LIVES
So let’s look at what I do know. If someone is living parallel lives, it means they are experiencing a very different version of their life simultaneously with the life they are familiar with. So you could have a life in the USA while having a parallel life in China. This corresponds to the idea of a multiverse, whereas souls are split and living two completely separate lives unknown to the other.
There is no scientific proof that parallel universes exist. Scientific proposals about multiverses are purely speculative. The Bible focuses on the one soul/one body theory that I espouse to. Yet even though there is no concrete scientific answer to this question, there are some renowned scientists and philosophers who suggest the very real possibility that there are other versions of you in other universes.
Michael Newton, PhD, writing in Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives, stated: “The energy of the soul is able to divide into identical parts, similar to a hologram. It may live parallel lives in other bodies although this is much less common than we read about.”
While soul division is not something I have encountered in my work, Newton was a strong believer in the soul’s ability to divide. In writing about the motivations for the soul to split and live parallel lives, he said:
“Many people feel it is common for souls to live parallel lives. I have found this not to be true at all. The souls who choose to split into two or more bodies within the same general time frame on Earth want to accelerate their learning. Thus, a soul might leave up to 10 percent of its energy behind and place the rest in two or three bodies. Because we have free will, our guides will allow for these experiments but they advise against it. On the whole, since the energy drain is enormous, most souls who try parallel lives do so only a time or two before giving it up. Souls don’t wish to lead parallel lives unless they are extraordinarily ambitious.”
WALK-INS
A walk-in is someone whose soul is replaced by a different soul at some point in life. They may have felt that the karma they took on was too much for them to handle, and rather than exit the planet without finishing that karma, they make an agreement with another soul to switch places with them. In that case, the original soul leaves their body and a new soul comes in to finish out that lifetime. There is some speculation that the two souls stay together and share that one body, but going back to my one soul/one body belief, that hasn’t been my experience.
Writer Ruth Montgomery wrote about this in her book, Strangers Among Us. In her version, a new soul comes in when the original soul is enduring intense personal problems, or during or because of an accident or trauma. The walk-in retains the memories of the original personality, so they can easily slip in undetected. However, what they don’t experience are the emotions associated with the memories of the original inhabiting soul. As time goes on and they integrate, they bring their own mental, emotional, spiritual consciousness and evolve the life to resonate with their purpose and intentions. Incarnating into a fully grown body allows the walk-in soul to engage in embodiment without having to go through the two decades of maturation that humans need to reach adulthood. A walk-in soul also does not experience the conditioning of childhood and has a different relationship to life because they were not born.
The idea of a walk-in has been portrayed in books, television and movies for many years. Heaven Can Wait, Twilight Zone, the Death of Superman, The X-Files, and Ghost Whisperer have touched on this subject. So has Stephen King in his The Dark Tower novels. Each treats the idea of a walk-in in a different way.
